Chapter Thirty: Public Uproar

The Tower of Taxonomy is now in hot water. The Scientific Assembly was asking for more information as the murders become widespread, yet not a single arrest by law enforcement was made.

Several politicians have already took matters to the Podium to speak.

"We demand answers to these barbaric deaths as the Taxonomists fail every single day to defend us from a serial killer at large! Who will fall as the next victim? What does this curious killer want to attain from all these killings? We demand answers, Madam Presiding Officer!"

"The Tower of Taxonomy, to whom we entrust our safety, is not even trying hard to make arrests, in my opinion, Madam Presiding Officer. Are they lost in the track of things? Why are there no leads so far? Are they failing to make an airtight case that can lead to the appripriate arrests as soon as possible?"

"Madam Presiding Office, the Tower of Taxonomy must immediately be summoned to appear before this august body, and testify before us with all certainty that the killer in these senseless deaths must be put on trial for the death penalty. They owe to this Assembly and the Scientific community an acceptable explanation why this killer on the loose was able to get away from all of the scenes of these murders without leaving a trace. They must reassure our representations that justice will prevail with all honesty!"

As these murders made headlines across the See of Dunster, both the Scientific Council and the Literary Committee have made public appearances where they have tried, persuasively in detail, to quell public anger regarding the circumstances and why the killer has not been arrested still despite best efforts to make a valid case.

"The Literary Committee is also trying to get into the bottom of this, as the circumstances have been identified to be of unknown qualities. It seems that the classification of death are gathered to be unique in its own self, but the pattern exists to convincingly establish that the murders were committed by no less than the same person. One of our very own has been a victim as well. The Literary movement will make a parallel investigation leading to solving these mysterious deaths," the Chairman declared in a public address.

Still, the issue dominated public opinion, and the pressure is mounting for the Tower of Taxonomy to make an immediate arrest as soon as possible. Some journalists even accuse the leaders of the Taxonomists of losing their old charm regarding their execellence in solving crimes, unlike their immediate predecessors. It was the leadership who are taking the hit of public opinion, and even the call for the Anti-Plagiarists to takeover the case has been viewed to be very hurtful for the Tower, especially those rhetoric with the implication of having no competence in dealing with the current challenges of the situation.

"We will make arrests as soon as possible," the Tower of Taxonomy said in a recent press statement.

However, until now, and as of press time, there have been no arrests that have been made. The public has now grown tired of the waiting game, and still gathering more public uproar with no concrete result to offer.
