Chapter Thirty Eight: Poison
The Taxonomist immediately felt the potent effects of the poison. It came right after he sniffed a very curious scent. He abruptly fell to his knees, almost instantaneously becoming unconscious.
"What did you do to me?" the Taxonomist asked. He has catching his breath with a wheeezing sound.
"Nothing personal. It was just unfortunate enough that the past is calling, and I needed to respond to the demands of the work. You will not feel the pain for too long, I can certainly assure you that."
"You . . . You betrayed me . . . ," the Taxonomist said. He was beginning to lose his consciousness.
After a while, he was dead. This particular Taxonomist is on his way. The good Ezra Dunster could not have done it without attacking him in a treacherous manner. It is important for the chosen Taxonomist to eventually find his path. For him to succeed in this very perilous journey, he must know what treachery means and what it feels like for the element of trust to be broken.
A broken heart always allows the light to get in.
Ezra Dunster can feel a certain aura within this particular Taxonomist that immediately attracted his attention. He is full of potential, and the rhymes always escapes his mouth when he speaks and trying his best to reason appropriately. There was music and poem within him that is too overwhelming that it simply could not be contained inside the beauty of his soul.
For him, he is their man. The perfect person for the job.
After sending him on his way, the good Ezra Dunster must find his way out of this labyrinth, away from the watchful eyes of the guards in the Tower of Taxonomy. Of course, he waited for the Taxonomist's body to disappear before he can totally execute his masterful escape. Surely, the Taxonomist is dead, but not exactly. He is on the way, that is the only thing certain for now.
The Taxonomist's life purpose is to face the ultimate sacrifice. And he will soon know everything to be true, and real, and truly purposive. He may fail or he may succeed along the way, and he is on his way to save those who have fallen in the darkness or was simply blinded by the allure of flowery words.
In the end, everything prepares an infinite soul to face this precise moment.
