Chapter Sixty Two: Seven Mysterious Deaths

After five solid minutes, he was dead. He eventually lost consciousness after losing a lot of blood. And then, as if on cue, there was darkness that descends. He wasn't breathing anymore, but he could clearly see. There was a faint light that shines through the dark horizon, so the darkness was well-defined. It was made of a dark material as dark as the manner of his death. How he managed to know this, he had no idea.

He was hearing so many noises, voices, the loud decibel of his own speech as he pleaded for his life to be spared. But his predicament fell on deaf ears, and he was still dead, immediately in an instant.

It was a terrible, painful death.

She was running away from her attacker through the slippery trail of the mountainous terrain. There was a very deep ravine to her left and the pouring rain was making matters worse for her. The attacker was too determined to get to her, but she will not let him kill her without giving a courageous fight. She was waiting for the right time to surprise her attacker with a counter attack that will trip the attacker to the ground.

She did just that and she managed to trip him. But the attacker was able to fall on her and both of them landed to the mud on the ground. There was a scuffle that ensued, and as she was trying to break free from the clutches of the attacker to continue running, the attacker has found the knife.

And before she knew it, the attacker already stabbed her seven times to the neck.

She died peacefully on her private hospital bed. Everybody was there; the patient's two sons, two daughters, and her very loyal cat Syrup. The family was grieving silently as she took her final breath. Even her cat Syrup knew the extreme sadness of the moment that was happening. Just like him, everybody was in tears, lamenting their loss in the silence of their hearts. She fought valiantly from breast cancer, but she was able to live her full life. Living everyday, fighting in secret, and trying to be happy every way she can.

She died having fully experienced the life she had to live, and that is all that matters for now. Syrup will definitely miss her knitting in the living room. And the family will definitely miss the very secret recipe of her turkey stuffing that she cooks every Thanksgiving Day.

"Don't touch me or I will scream!"

"Don't you dare!"

"I will scream, you hear?"

"Stop following me!"

"Stop. Just stop."

"I will call the cops now."

***
It was a silent night in Bonifacio Global City in Metro Manila, Philippines. The cold January air was blowing from the balcony of his penthouse unit. He can still remember quite vividly the three deaths that he witnessed under weird and unusual circumstances. There were aliens involved and they were responsible for the three deaths. He has since then retired from the National Guards carrying this secret about the involvement of the supernatural event that is still within his consciousness and memory; he was prohibited from revealing the true account of that gruesome crime scene.

And this very fact puts a strain on his mental health, every day, every time he hears his traumatic triggers. He moved to the Philippines to begin a new life, away from the streets of  trauma, and for a while it seems to be working out.

But for how long?

***
Death is dark, uncertain and painful, but inevitable.
